Exploring Hidden Gems and Unique Experiences in Lolland-Falster

Lolland-Falster offers a plethora of attractions beyond the well-known Knuthenborg Safari Park, including manor houses, scenic dining spots, beaches, and unique art installations. This Danish island region provides opportunities for memorable experiences.

The area boasts 54 manor houses, with Krenkerup Estate Restaurant near Sakskøbing standing out for its craft beers. Visitors can sample all 13 varieties of Krenkerup beer alongside a light lunch featuring local delicacies.

Pomle Nakke Traktørsted provides a dining experience with views of the Baltic Sea and Falster’s beech forest. The restaurant serves lunch and dinner menus featuring locally sourced ingredients, earning high praise for its location and food. Hesnæs Havn bakery and confectioner, Pomle Nakke’s sister location, will also offer lunch options and baked goods starting in 2026.

East Falster’s beach, stretching south from Corselitze forest, offers a blend of sea and beech forest. The quiet beach features sandy bottoms and a swing overlooking the Baltic Sea.

The Maribo Lakes provide a tranquil setting, ideal for peaceful walks and bike rides. Visitors can stop at Søholt Estate’s baroque garden and keep an eye out for a reported kangaroo roaming the area.

The Dodecaliths, an ongoing art installation near Kragenæs, features 11 imposing stone statues and a sound installation. The artwork offers a unique and slightly eerie experience, especially when visited at night.
