DSB Addresses Development Plans and Parking Concerns at Rungsted Kyst Station

Danish State Railways (DSB) is considering future housing development on its land near Rungsted Kyst Station, aiming for sustainable, station-near urban development. This initiative is part of DSB’s effort to utilize empty track areas and ensure a return on its land value.

In the short term, DSB plans to improve the aesthetics of the area near the old villa adjacent to the station, following discussions with Hørsholm Municipality.

While DSB is open to discussing parking solutions with Mayor Morten Slotved, current data does not indicate a pressing need for additional parking spaces at Rungsted Kyst Station. According to DSB’s figures, nearly one-third of the station’s 200+ parking spaces remain vacant on weekdays outside of holiday periods.

DSB acknowledges that changes in the local business landscape could potentially increase parking demand in the future. While parking is primarily the municipality’s responsibility, DSB is willing to collaborate on finding an overall solution, as it has done in other municipalities like Køge.

DSB encourages Hørsholm Municipality to engage in further dialogue regarding the development plans for the area.
