Drake and PartyNextDoor will perform at the Royal Arena in Copenhagen on August 24th and 25th as part of their “$ome $pecial $hows 4 UK EU” tour. The tour starts in July in Birmingham, UK, and concludes in Hamburg, Germany, in September.
Prior to their shows in Denmark, the duo will perform two concerts at the Avicii Arena in Stockholm, Sweden. Drake and PartyNextDoor released a joint album, “$ome $exy $ongs 4 U,” in February.
Drake’s last performance in Denmark was in 2017 during “The Boy Meets World Tour.” A reviewer noted that Drake “made everything flicker and vibrate in the Royal Arena,” highlighting themes of feelings and digital connections in his performance. The review praised his pop artistic investigation of the intersection of social relations, feelings, intimacy, and technology.
Drake debuted with the EP “So Far Gone” in 2009 and has since achieved global success with hits like “Hotline Bling”, “God’s Plan”, and “One Dance”. Last year, Drake was involved in a musical feud with rapper Kendrick Lamar.
Drake sued Universal Music Group for defamation and harassment following the release of Kendrick Lamar’s song “Not Like Us,” which is one of several diss tracks exchanged between the two artists. In “Not Like Us,” Kendrick Lamar accuses Drake and his team of pedophilia. The feud reached a peak in February with Kendrick Lamar’s performance at the Super Bowl, where he performed “Not Like Us.”
