Direct Train Connection from Copenhagen to Berlin and Prague Starting Next Year

Starting in May of next year, a new direct train connection will link Copenhagen with Berlin and Prague, eliminating the need for train changes. This initiative, announced by Danish State Railways (DSB), is a collaboration with Deutsche Bahn (German Railways) and Ceske Drahy (Czech Railways).

The new service will offer two daily departures between the three capital cities. During the summer months, an additional overnight departure will be added.

The journey from Copenhagen to Berlin is estimated to take seven hours, while the trip to Prague will take approximately 11 hours.

Within Denmark, trains will make stops at Copenhagen Central Station, Ringsted, Odense, Kolding, and Padborg. In Germany and the Czech Republic, stops will include Hamburg, Dresden, and Decin, in addition to Berlin and Prague.

Charlotte Kjærulff, Head of Customers at DSB, emphasized the importance of the partnership with DB and CD in facilitating easier and more convenient train travel for customers interested in exploring Europe. She also highlighted that this new connection is among the first ten European projects supported by the EU Commission focused on cross-border rail travel.

The trains operating on this route will feature amenities such as reclining seats and a restaurant car offering food and beverages.
