Denmark’s Lineup Changes for Crucial World Cup Qualifier Against Greece

Denmark’s coach, Brian Riemer, has announced two changes to the starting lineup and a shift in formation for Monday’s vital World Cup qualifying match against Greece. The game is crucial for Denmark’s chances of securing a direct spot in the World Cup.

Victor Froholdt, a 19-year-old midfielder, will join Pierre-Emile Højbjerg and Morten Hjulmand in a high-energy midfield trio, following a strong performance against Scotland. Froholdt replaces Kasper Dolberg, who underperformed in the previous match.

Andreas Skov Olsen will start on the right wing, taking the place of Anders Dreyer. Mika Biereth will retain his position as the striker, with Rasmus Højlund starting on the bench.

The new formation is a 4-3-3, a change from the 4-4-2 used in the previous game. The starting lineup is as follows: Kasper Schmeichel, Rasmus Nissen Kristensen, Joachim Andersen, Andreas Christensen, Joakim Mæhle, Pierre-Emile Højbjerg, Morten Hjulmand, Victor Froholdt, Andreas Skov Olsen, Mika Biereth, and Mikkel Damsgaard.

Denmark needs to secure points in Athens to maintain control of their World Cup qualifying fate. A defeat would jeopardize their chances of winning the group and securing a direct World Cup ticket, potentially forcing them into the playoffs.
