Denmark has issued a stern warning to the United States against any attempts to interfere in the internal affairs of Greenland. This message was delivered to the US chargé d’affaires during a meeting on Wednesday, according to the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The meeting was prompted by a report from DR (Danish Broadcasting Corporation), which detailed the activities of three American men with alleged ties to former US President Donald Trump. The report suggested these men were attempting to infiltrate Greenland, a territory that Trump has previously expressed interest in acquiring for the United States.
Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen summoned the senior US diplomat to express Denmark’s concerns. The Danish government emphasized that any actions aimed at disrupting the Kingdom’s internal affairs or sowing discord would be considered unacceptable.
Denmark’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs underscored the Kingdom’s expectation of full respect for its sovereignty and internal affairs. The chargé d’affaires, a senior diplomat acting in the absence of an ambassador, received this message directly during the Wednesday meeting.
