Denmark aims to bolster agricultural competitiveness during its EU presidency to enhance Europe’s self-sufficiency. According to the Minister for Food, Agriculture and Fisheries, Jacob Jensen (V), this initiative is a key priority.
The announcement precedes an informal meeting in Copenhagen, where the EU Commission, agriculture ministers, and delegations from all 27 EU countries will convene to discuss strategies for strengthening competitiveness and accelerating the green transition within the agricultural sector.
The discussions will specifically emphasize simplifying existing regulations and leveraging new technologies to achieve these goals.
Denmark’s EU presidency coincides with a broader shift in how Brussels approaches agricultural policy.
