The Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI) has issued a warning for local cloudbursts and thunder across Denmark, excluding Bornholm. The alert is in effect from 11 AM to 9 PM today.
The primary cause is attributed to mild, humid air moving into Denmark from the northeast and north. This weather pattern creates conditions conducive to the formation of rain and thunderstorms over much of the country during the day.
The risk of intense rainfall is particularly high in Jutland. The slow movement of these showers, due to minimal wind, increases the potential for significant precipitation in localized areas.
A cloudburst is officially defined as 15 millimeters of rain falling within a 30-minute period.
