Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen has expressed openness to increasing the salaries of employees within the Armed Forces. This statement marks a shift from his previous stance of awaiting an analysis from a working group before discussing salary adjustments.
Poulsen acknowledged his hesitation regarding salary discussions but indicated a willingness to consider raises, specifying that framework conditions need consideration. He did not specify which employee groups might receive increased salaries, stating that he would elaborate on this later.
Several political parties have voiced support for raising soldiers’ salaries. Liberal Alliance’s defense spokesman, Carsten Bach, previously stated their readiness to quickly increase salaries for skilled constables without waiting for the fall analysis. The working group’s analysis, which will cover and analyze employment conditions for military personnel, is expected to be completed in the fall.
