Danish Success in Men’s Doubles at Malaysia Masters

Three Danish men’s doubles pairs have advanced to the second round of the Malaysia Masters Super 500 tournament after securing victories on Tuesday.

Kim Astrup and Anders Skaarup, the world’s top-ranked pair and defending champions, defeated their Chinese opponents in straight sets, 21-10, 21-17.

Earlier in the day, Daniel Lundgaard and Mads Vestergaard achieved a surprising win against Chen Boyang and Liu Yi, with a score of 27-25, 18-21, 21-16.

Rasmus Kjær and Frederik Søgaard also secured a victory against a Taiwanese duo, winning 21-10, 21-14.

William Kryger Boe and Christian Faust Kjær, fresh off their final appearance at the Thailand Open, continued their momentum by winning their qualifying match against a Malaysian pair.

Boe and Kjær are set to face another Malaysian team in the first round on Wednesday, with a potential second-round match against compatriots Rasmus Kjær and Frederik Søgaard.

Following their strong performance in Thailand, Boe and Kjær have climbed 25 spots in the world rankings to number 50.

In men’s singles, Anders Antonsen has withdrawn from the tournament to conserve energy for upcoming events in Singapore and Indonesia, leaving Rasmus Gemke as the sole Danish competitor in the category.
