Søren Gade, the Speaker of the Danish Parliament, has married his partner, Marianne Kirk, in a private ceremony. The wedding took place on July 5th and was officiated by Lars Storgaard, the Conservative mayor of Favrskov Municipality and a close friend of Gade.
The couple, who have been together for several years, chose to formalize their relationship in a quiet setting. “Why shouldn’t we do it when we love each other? And we are so much West Jutlanders that it’s nice to get things in order,” Gade stated.
The intimate wedding was held in Storgaard’s conservatory in Ulstrup. The only witnesses present were the mayor’s daughter and son-in-law. Following the ceremony, the newlyweds celebrated with a simple pizza dinner at home.
Gade, 62, was previously married to Helle Buskbjerg Poulsen, who passed away in 2008 after an illness. He has two children from his first marriage.
In other news, Søren Gade was recently nominated as the leading candidate for Venstre in the Ringkøbing-Skjern constituency for the upcoming parliamentary election, which is scheduled to be held before the end of October of the following year.
