Søren Gade, the Speaker of the Danish Parliament, has married Marianne Kirk in a private ceremony. The wedding took place on July 5th and was officiated by Lars Storgaard, the Conservative mayor of Favrskov Municipality.

The couple, who have been dating for several years, chose to formalize their relationship. “Why shouldn’t we do it when we love each other?” said Søren Gade. He also mentioned that, as West Jutlanders, they appreciate having things in order.

The relationship between the Venstre politician and Marianne Kirk became public two years ago. The wedding was held privately in the mayor’s conservatory in Ulstrup.
