Danish National Team Ready for Copenhagen Sprint

The Danish national cycling team, spearheaded by Michael Mørkøv, is set to compete in the inaugural Copenhagen Sprint World Tour race on June 22nd with a roster of seven riders. The team aims to leave a significant impression on the race from its commencement.

The final selection includes Alexander Salby, a sprinter demonstrating strong form. Salby, aged 27, has secured five victories in Asian races this spring while riding for the Li Ning Star team.

Previously selected riders include Kasper Asgreen (EF), Casper Pedersen (Quick-Step), and current Danish champion Rasmus Søjberg (AG2R). Rounding out the team are track cycling expert Niklas Larsen (BHS-PL Beton Bornholm), Joshua Gudnitz (Team ColoQuick), and Mads Andersen (AirTox – Carl Ras), as confirmed by a press release from the Danish Cycling Union.

The Copenhagen Sprint’s debut will feature a 236-kilometer course stretching from Roskilde to Copenhagen, incorporating circuit laps. The women’s race, covering 152 kilometers, is scheduled for Saturday, June 21st. Several other Danish cyclists from various teams are expected to participate alongside the national team contingent.
