A 41-year-old Danish man has been sentenced to six years in prison for sending millions of fraudulent text messages impersonating companies like PostNord and BroBizz. The Frederiksberg Court delivered the sentence on Tuesday, according to the Copenhagen Police.
The man sent over 2,400,000 text messages between June and October 2024. These messages attempted to trick recipients into providing their credit card information.
He successfully defrauded 42 victims, stealing over 500,000 kroner.
The man was also convicted of attempting to defraud additional victims of a total of 23 million kroner. He had obtained their information but was arrested before he could misuse it.
