A 21-year-old Danish citizen appeared in Copenhagen City Court on Thursday, facing ten charges related to recruiting individuals to commit violent crimes. He was wearing a Danish national team jersey.
The man’s defense attorney stated that his client pleads not guilty and will not comment on the charges. The arrest occurred Wednesday evening at 10:05 PM, following his extradition from Morocco.
He has been held in absentia in Denmark since November of last year.
The charges, brought forth by the Copenhagen Police prosecutor, include violations under the gang paragraph. This indicates that authorities believe the offenses were connected to an ongoing conflict between two groups.
A name ban protects the identity of the 21-year-old defendant.
