Danish drivers faced significant challenges at the 2025 Le Mans race, with multiple setbacks impacting their performances.
Frederik Vesti’s race ended prematurely when his Cadillac was retired on Sunday morning after being lifted off the track by a crane. This marked the culmination of a series of problems for Vesti and his teammates, Felipe Drugovich and Jack Aitken. Aitken had previously encountered a lengthy 17-minute pit stop due to mechanical issues, which severely hampered their chances of a high finish. The car ultimately stalled with Vesti driving, placing the team in 20th position and last in the Hypercar class.
Mikkel Jensen also struggled, running off the track while the safety car was deployed. His Peugeot team ended up last among the 19 cars still competing on Sunday morning.
Nicklas Nielsen emerged as the strongest Danish contender. His Ferrari, number 50, held fourth place, one lap behind the leading Ferrari.
Kevin Magnussen and his BMW team, despite harboring high hopes, found themselves in seventh place on Sunday morning. Michael Christensen’s Porsche, Malthe Jakobsen’s Peugeot, and Marco Sørensen’s Aston Martin were further down the rankings.
