A 21-year-old Danish citizen has been extradited from Denmark to Morocco to face charges including three counts of attempted murder. Copenhagen Police announced the extradition Wednesday evening on X.
The individual, whose name has not been released, is also charged with explosives offenses, arson, and weapons possession across six separate cases. Authorities suspect the 21-year-old of recruiting and instructing children to commit crimes within Denmark.
The charges against him include the so-called “gang paragraph,” implying that police believe his alleged actions are linked to an ongoing conflict between two groups. Conviction under the gang paragraph could result in a sentence double the standard penalty.
An arrest warrant had been issued for the man since November 26 of the previous year.
The preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9:30 AM at the Copenhagen City Court. The prosecution is expected to request that the hearing be closed to the public. While the public will not be privy to the evidence presented or the defendant’s testimony, the charges will be read aloud in open court, and the defense counsel will be able to state the suspect’s position on the charges.
