A cyclist was injured after being hit by a car during a cycling race on Holmegårdsvej in Lejre, central Zealand, on Thursday afternoon. The incident occurred during a race organized by the Police Sports Association.

According to reports, the cyclist likely suffered a broken collarbone. An ambulance and paramedics were dispatched to the scene following the accident.

Johannes Risbjerg, chairman of the cycling department, stated that the cyclist who was hit was at the back of the pack on the last lap.

The race was neutralized following the incident.

Authorities have indicated that the driver of the car was not immediately arrested.

The cycling race was a category III race, meaning that ordinary traffic was permitted on the route. Officials were present at the race.
