Copenhagen Venue Cancels Danish Rapper Miklo’s Concert Following Antisemitic Remarks

Vega, a venue in Copenhagen, has cancelled a concert featuring Danish rapper Miklo after he was accused of glorifying Adolf Hitler and the Nazi genocide against Jews in a video posted on TikTok. The concert was scheduled for November 29.

The cancellation stems from a TikTok video in which Miklo made controversial statements, including “Heil Hitler, he understood, they should be gassed” and “fuck Israel, everyone supports with their absence.

Vega stated that “Anti-Semitic acts are illegal in Denmark, and regardless of the intentions behind Miklo’s statement, we cannot interpret it as anything other than that.” The venue emphasized its commitment to being a safe space for all guests and employees, stating that “attacking or demonizing an entire population group based on, for example, ethnicity, religion or gender is not.”

Ticket buyers for the cancelled concert “will be notified directly and will have purchased tickets refunded.”

Miklo, whose real name is Anders Henckel Johansen, previously denied supporting Nazism or Hitler, calling the statements “a small TikTok stunt” in a written response.

In 2023, Miklo was sentenced to three years and nine months in prison for gross violence, deprivation of liberty, robbery, and extortion.
