A Copenhagen venue, Vega, has cancelled a scheduled concert with Danish rapper Miklo following accusations of antisemitism. The cancellation stems from a video where Miklo allegedly glorified Adolf Hitler and the Nazi genocide against Jews.
Vega stated that the decision was directly influenced by the emergence of the TikTok video. The venue emphasized that antisemitic actions are illegal in Denmark and that Miklo’s statement was incompatible with Vega’s values of providing a safe space for all guests and employees.
The controversial video reportedly features Miklo saying, “Heil Hitler, he understood they had to be gassed.” The rapper previously dismissed the statement as a “small TikTok stunt” and denied supporting Nazism or Hitler in a written response.
The concert was originally scheduled for November 29. Vega clarified that there is a significant distinction between expressing opposition to a regime or ideology and attacking an entire population group.
