A 27-year-old man employed by the Municipality of Copenhagen is facing charges for allegedly sharing confidential information with members of the criminal underworld, potentially linking him to an attempted murder case that occurred in Herning last year. The suspect is scheduled to appear in a preliminary hearing on Wednesday.
Police allege that the man provided the address and social security number of the intended victim to an individual via the Signal messaging app. This action, according to authorities, constitutes participation in the attempted murder. The accused denies any involvement in the crime.
The attempted murder took place in June of the previous year and was allegedly carried out by two Swedish girls, then aged 14 and 15. The girls traveled from Sweden equipped with a pistol and went to the victim’s address with the intent to harm him.
The attempted murder was unsuccessful as the intended victim was not at the residence when the girls arrived.
One of the girls, who has since turned 16, was sentenced to imprisonment in absentia earlier this summer. The other girl was below the age of criminal responsibility at the time of the alleged crime and therefore cannot be prosecuted.
