Pernille Skipper, the chairman of Coop, is relocating to the United States with her family in August. This move comes as her husband has accepted a dream job opportunity in the U.S.

Skipper announced the move on LinkedIn, explaining that she, her husband, and their three children will be moving abroad. While the move will not immediately impact her role as chairman, she acknowledges the challenges of leading a locally focused, member-owned organization from overseas in the long term.

She stated that while technology allows for remote work, she cannot maintain a physical presence in Denmark to the same extent. Therefore, plans for her long-term role as chairman will need to be addressed at some point.

Skipper, a lawyer, previously served as a member of the Danish Parliament for the Red-Green Alliance from 2011 to November 2022. She was a political spokesperson for the party for many years and later worked as a political commentator for TV 2.
