A true copy of Andersens Badehotel from the TV 2 series “Badehotellet” is under construction at Oplevelsescenter Nyvang in Holbæk and is expected to open next year. The museum obtained the rights to build a physical reproduction of the hotel from the series after it ended in 2024.
The project is budgeted at DKK 15 million and has received support from Holbæk Municipality, Sparekassen Sjælland Fonden, and Region Sjælland, among others. The decorations previously used in Risby Studios, which filled approximately 1800 square meters, are now in storage for the new hotel.
Michael Bille Frandsen, producer of “Badehotellet,” stated that the ambitious reconstruction will please fans and offer a great experience. Oplevelsescenter Nyvang is a museum that conveys Denmark’s history from 1930 to 1959.
“Badehotellet” is a historical comedy-drama that aired on TV 2 for ten seasons, premiering in 2013 and concluding in March 2024. The series, set between 1928 and 1946, follows the lives of the hotel’s guests and employees. The premiere of season ten attracted 1.1 million viewers.
