The Champions League group stage draw is scheduled for Thursday evening in Monaco, setting the stage for the autumn’s competition. FC Copenhagen, having secured a 3-1 aggregate victory against FC Basel, will be among the teams participating.
The draw will determine the eight opponents for each team, with two teams being selected from each of the four seeding tiers.
The seeding tiers are as follows:
First Seeding Tier: Paris Saint-Germain (France), Real Madrid (Spain), Manchester City (England), Bayern Munich (Germany), Liverpool (England), Inter (Italy), Chelsea (England), Borussia Dortmund (Germany), FC Barcelona (Spain).
Second Seeding Tier: Arsenal (England), Bayer Leverkusen (Germany), Atlético Madrid (Spain), Benfica (Portugal), Atalanta (Italy), Villarreal (Spain), Juventus (Italy), Eintracht Frankfurt (Germany), Club Brugge (Belgium).
Third Seeding Tier: Tottenham (England), PSV (Netherlands), Ajax (Netherlands), Napoli (Italy), Sporting CP (Portugal), Olympiakos (Greece), Slavia Prague (Czech Republic), Bodø/Glimt (Norway), Marseille (France).
Fourth Seeding Tier: FC Copenhagen (Denmark), Monaco (Monaco), Galatasaray (Turkey), Union Saint-Gilloise (Belgium), Qarabag (Azerbaijan), Athletic Club (Spain), Newcastle (England), Pafos FC (Cyprus), Kairat Almaty (Kazakhstan).
