Brøndby’s Mathias Kvistgaarden to Play for Norwich City

Mathias Kvistgaarden, Brøndby’s leading scorer, will transfer to Norwich City, playing in England’s second-tier league next season, after the two clubs reached a transfer agreement. The 23-year-old striker’s move to the Championship club follows recent media speculation.

Kvistgaarden expressed that leaving Brøndby was a difficult decision but felt like the right time, hoping to return to the club in the future.

Kvistgaarden debuted for the Danish national team in June and subsequently joined the U21 national team for the European Championships, after a Superliga season where he scored 17 goals in 29 matches. He has played 126 games and scored 47 goals for Brøndby, which he has been with since his youth.

Norwich City, which finished 13th in the Championship last season, currently has several Danish players, including Emiliano Marcondes, Oscar Schwartau and Anis Ben Slimane.

Liam Manning now manages Norwich, after Johannes Hoff Thorup and Glen Riddersholm were dismissed. Norwich last played in the Premier League in the 2021/2022 season.
