Brøndby has been fined €20,000 and handed a conditional spectator penalty by UEFA following fan misconduct during their recent European match against Strasbourg. The penalty was announced on Wednesday on UEFA’s website.
The conditional spectator penalty stipulates that Brøndby will be prohibited from selling tickets to their supporters for their next European away game if similar incidents occur within the next two years.
The fine and conditional penalty stem from Brøndby supporters setting off flares during the match against Strasbourg last week.
The conditional penalty, effective immediately, remains in place for two years.
Brøndby is scheduled to play Strasbourg at home on Thursday evening in the second leg of their Conference League playoff tie. The first leg in France ended in a 0-0 draw last Thursday.
