Bengt Sundstrøm, a co-owner of the bankrupt auction house Lauritz.com, faces further financial complications as his two personally owned companies are now subject to bankruptcy proceedings. This development follows the failure to sell Vignelaure, a French wine castle owned by one of Sundstrøm’s companies, which was intended to serve as collateral for bondholders owed money in the Lauritz.com bankruptcy.
The bankruptcy petition impacts Ejendomsselskabet Blixt Aps, the company owning the castle, and Blixt Holding, which owns Ejendomsselskabet Blixt Aps. The restructuring of both companies has been abandoned due to the unsuccessful sale of the wine castle.
Henrik Selchau Poulsen, the trustee of the Lauritz.com bankruptcy estate, stated that efforts to sell the French company owning the wine castle will persist. The sale will continue in collaboration with existing French and international real estate agents.
The Lauritz.com bankruptcy estate faces claims totaling approximately DKK 185 million. Trustees have also filed damage claims against the former management, including Bengt Sundstrøm and his wife, Mette Rode Sundstrøm, as well as the auction company’s former auditor, Beierholm.
