Bankruptcy Proceedings Commence for Bengt Sundstrøm’s Companies Following Lauritz.com Collapse

Bengt Sundstrøm, former co-owner of the bankrupt auction house Lauritz.com, faces further financial repercussions as his two personally owned companies enter bankruptcy proceedings. This development follows the unsuccessful attempt to sell the French wine chateau Vignelaure, which served as collateral for bondholders owed money in the Lauritz.com bankruptcy.

The bankruptcy petition necessitates the abandonment of the restructuring of both Ejendomsselskabet Blixt Aps, the chateau’s owner, and Blixt Holding, which owns the former company. Despite this setback, efforts to sell the chateau will persist to reimburse the lenders.

Henrik Selchau Poulsen, the trustee in the Lauritz.com bankruptcy estate, confirmed that the sale process for the French company owning the wine chateau will continue without interruption. The effort will proceed in collaboration with existing French and international real estate agents.

The total claims against Lauritz.com’s bankruptcy estate amount to approximately DKK 185 million. Furthermore, trustees have filed damage claims against the former management, including Bengt Sundstrøm and his wife, Mette Rode Sundstrøm, as well as Beierholm, the auction company’s former auditor.
