Train service between Roskilde and Høje Taastrup and between Slagelse and Korsør is expected to resume on Sunday, according to Banedanmark. The stretches have been affected by track work for a week, requiring rail replacement buses to transport passengers.
The track work between Roskilde and Høje Taastrup included the installation of brand new tracks and the replacement of a tunnel. Banedanmark, which is responsible for maintaining the tracks, schedules such work to minimize disruption to train passengers.
DSB’s information manager, Tony Bispeskov, noted that the work was timed during the summer holidays when fewer commuters are traveling. During the busiest times, DSB had up to 125 rail replacement buses running, with approximately 210 drivers assigned on Friday.
Banedanmark has shared images on social media platform X of the work being done, including the upgrade of a 100-year-old path tunnel in Roskilde. The images show the excavation of the old tunnel and the installation of new tunnel elements, each weighing 22 tons.
