Arrest Made in Harlev Sewer Murder Case

A 41-year-old Polish man and a 30-year-old Danish woman were arrested on Monday and charged with the murder of a 26-year-old Polish man whose body was discovered in a sewer in Harlev in February, according to East Jutland Police.

The arrests, which occurred around 9:30 a.m. at a residence in Viby, followed a comprehensive investigation into the death of the man, who was found on February 28. The two suspects, who both reside in Denmark, are scheduled to appear in a preliminary hearing on Tuesday at the Court in Aarhus.

The East Jutland Police carried out a major coordinated operation on Monday at multiple locations around Aarhus, which included searches in addition to the arrests.

Police Inspector Anders Uhrskov stated that he was very pleased that the police were able to arrest the two people who they believe can be linked to the murder of the 26-year-old man and also noted that interrogations and technical investigations were conducted at various sites around Aarhus on Monday and are expected to continue.

Authorities have stated that the investigation is ongoing and that they do not yet have a complete understanding of the circumstances surrounding the case. In light of the ongoing investigation, the preliminary hearing on Tuesday will be held behind closed doors.

Following the discovery of the body, East Jutland Police appealed to the public for assistance in tracing the movements of the deceased, requesting that citizens preserve any outdoor video surveillance footage. The relatives of the 26-year-old Polish man have been notified about the arrests made on Monday.
