Anders Dreyer Disappointed with His Performance Against Scotland

Anders Dreyer expressed disappointment with his performance in the 0-0 draw against Scotland in the World Cup qualifier on Friday. Despite being given a starting opportunity, the Danish national team player felt he didn’t showcase his abilities effectively.

Dreyer acknowledged his personal output was insufficient, stating, “I didn’t quite show what I wanted to in the match. I’m not satisfied with my own performance, but that’s how it is sometimes in football, it goes up and down.” He also noted his desire to be more involved in the final third of the pitch, especially in the space between the lines.

The in-form player from San Diego, who has an impressive record of 14 goals and 16 assists in 29 matches, had hoped to replicate his club form for the national team. He had a close attempt during the match that went just past the goal.

Dreyer is aware that national coach Brian Riemer might consider changes to the offensive lineup for the upcoming match against Greece. “I can understand if he thinks something else needs to happen. It’s entirely up to Brian, and then I’ll take it from there,” Dreyer said.

Brian Riemer, while regretting Gustav Isaksen’s absence due to mononucleosis, defended Dreyer, stating that it would be unfair to blame him for the team’s offensive struggles. “It is not one player who is to blame for whether we succeed with the offensive actions or not,” Riemer said.

Dreyer has played six national matches and scored one goal. He plans to analyze his performance to identify areas for improvement before the match against Greece.
