Alm. Brand has reported a first-half profit after tax of 508 million kroner, surpassing last year’s 323 million kroner and exceeding expectations. Due to this strong performance, the company’s management has increased its estimate for the year’s total result by 100 million kroner.
The positive results are attributed to the group’s robust private and commercial business sectors. CEO Rasmus Werner Nielsen highlighted their contribution to the overall positive development.
The insurance result for the first half of the year reached 857 million kroner, while the investment return contributed 198 million kroner. These two surpluses, the insurance technical result and the investment return, typically determine an insurance company’s bottom line. The insurance technical result reflects income and expenses directly related to the insurance business, while the investment return stems from the company’s investments. The second quarter saw mild weather without major extremes, contributing to the favorable outcome.
