A 25-year-old Swedish man and a 19-year-old Danish man were arrested on October 30th in connection with an alleged murder plot. The scheme was reportedly uncovered after police discovered a post by an escort on the encrypted messaging service Telegram.
According to the prosecution, the intended victim was an unidentified individual with connections to the gang Loyal To Familia (LTF).
Prosecutor Andreas Emil Christensen stated that the murder was thwarted due to a delay in the weapon delivery, which allowed police to apprehend the suspects.
The prosecution believes the Swedish man was intended to be the triggerman, while the Danish teenager was to provide organizational support. Both men maintain their innocence.
The Telegram post, reviewed in court, featured a picture of the escort with a Swedish text translated into Danish. The message, sent in a group appearing as Unknown Team/NNV, alluded to providing an escort for a hitman due to delays with a gun, offering money, protection, and other benefits.
Police identified the escort through a tattoo and contacted Swedish authorities, suspecting her client was from Sweden.
Swedish police identified the man, prompting Copenhagen Police to investigate taxi services for drop-offs near the brothel.
This inquiry led to the identification of two phones near the pick-up point and brothel via telecom mast information: the taxi driver and the client. The man was then traced to a hotel, where he was arrested.
The Swedish man is expected to provide an explanation, while the Danish teenager will be questioned at a later date.
