Alexander Salby Secures Victory in Final Stage of Tour of Qinghai

Alexander Salby, a Danish cyclist, has triumphed in the final stage of the Tour of Qinghai in China, marking his seventh professional victory in Asia this season. The 27-year-old sprinter, riding for the Chinese continental team Li Ning Star, secured the win in a mass sprint during the race’s eighth stage.

Salby’s success in the Tour of Qinghai extends beyond the final stage, as he also claimed victory in the second stage of the competition. This latest win adds to his impressive record in Asia, which includes three stage wins and an overall victory in a race in Thailand, as well as a stage win in the Chinese Tour of Hainan earlier in 2025.

Before his move to China, Salby competed at the second-highest level for Belgian Bingoal in 2023 and 2024, even participating in Paris-Roubaix twice. Despite his achievements abroad, Salby made an appearance in Denmark as part of the national team in the Copenhagen Sprint, finishing 150th. He later withdrew from the Danish National Road Race Championships in Aalborg.

Salby is scheduled to continue competing in China in the coming months, with plans to participate in five different races. This follows his decision to race in Asia after failing to secure a new professional contract in Europe.
