Aalborg Håndbold Advances to Danish Championship Final

Aalborg Håndbold has secured its place in the Danish Championship final, paving the way for a title defense. The team clinched their spot Wednesday evening after defeating TTH Holstebro 37-31 in the second DM semi-final match.

Aalborg had previously won the first leg of the semi-final series with a score of 28-23 on their home court. Mads Hoxer played a key role in Wednesday’s victory, demonstrating his determination to secure a spot in the final for his team.

Despite a slow start that allowed underdog TTH Holstebro to gain an initial lead, Aalborg quickly found their rhythm. The team capitalized on TTH’s errors, scoring six consecutive goals and gaining control of the match.

Hoxer stood out with his impressive performance, showcasing his physical prowess and powerful left arm, ultimately scoring 12 goals. Veteran Henrik Møllgaard also contributed with a remarkable goal, reminiscent of his earlier career, extending Aalborg’s lead to 19-15 at halftime.

Throughout the second half, Aalborg maintained control, with Hoxer continuing his strong performance. The balanced offensive efforts of the team ensured that TTH could not close the gap.

Aalborg will face the winner of the GOG versus Skjern Håndbold semi-final series, which will be decided on Saturday. The first DM final is scheduled for June 4th.
