AaB experienced a disappointing start to their 1st division campaign, losing 0-1 to Kolding IF on Saturday. The match saw Kolding playing with ten men for a significant portion of the game.

Kolding IF secured a 1-0 victory against AaB, despite playing a man down for much of the match. The decisive goal came from Sterling Yateke in the second half.

Ari Leifsson’s red card in the 44th minute for stopping a breakaway left AaB with a man advantage. However, Sterling Yateke capitalized on a volley ten minutes into the second half, with AaB keeper Vincent Müller’s performance being questionable.

AaB’s attack struggled throughout the match, failing to capitalize on their numerical advantage. Bertram Skovgaard missed a key opportunity, kicking a cross directly at Kolding’s keeper, Lennart Moser.

Despite Yateke missing a penalty in the opening fifteen minutes, Kolding maintained pressure on AaB. Their high press initially caused problems for the North Jutlanders.

Assistant coach Bo Zinck, leading AaB in the absence of a head coach, witnessed his team’s struggles from the sideline.

Kolding had several good chances throughout the match.

AaB now faces Hillerød in the next round, who won their match against Middelfart Boldklub 2-1.
