Liverpool Signs Striker Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt

Liverpool has officially announced the acquisition of striker Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt, bolstering their attacking options for the upcoming season. The Premier League club confirmed the transfer on its website, securing the services of the French forward.

The agreement, finalized on Wednesday evening, will see the fast and goal-scoring striker join the ranks of the English team. While the specific contract details remain undisclosed by the club, reports from English media indicate that the deal extends until the summer of 2031.

The transfer fee, according to English media outlets, is approximately 600 million kroner. This amount has the potential to increase by an additional 100 million kroner, contingent upon Ekitike achieving certain performance-based bonuses during his time at Liverpool.

Ekitike, 23, previously played in Danish football, during the spring of 2021 when he was loaned to Vejle Boldklub. During his time there, he scored three goals in 11 appearances. Following his loan spell in Denmark, he returned to Reims and experienced success in Ligue 1, which led to his acquisition by Paris Saint-Germain. Subsequently, he was transferred to Frankfurt before ultimately making his move to Liverpool.

The striker, who also has Cameroonian heritage, has represented France in several youth international matches but has yet to make his debut for the French senior national team.
