The Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI) has prolonged its warning for potentially hazardous weather conditions, now extending into the late evening and night hours for eastern Denmark. This announcement comes directly from Steen Hermansen, a duty meteorologist at DMI.
Originally slated to conclude at 11 p.m. on Wednesday, the warning has been extended due to the slow movement of the weather front. It now remains in effect until 1 a.m. on Thursday for the entire eastern region of Denmark.
While Wednesday’s daytime hours brought soaring temperatures, a significant shift in weather is anticipated for the evening. The primary concern is torrential rain and thunderstorms.
According to Steen Hermansen, scattered intense rain showers have already begun, moving from Jutland across Funen. The expectation is that these showers will intensify and develop more violently as they move eastward tonight.
The meteorologist characterized the atmospheric conditions over Denmark as highly volatile and unpredictable. The high temperatures have been noticeable throughout the day, with the highest recorded temperature in the country reaching 33.7 degrees Celsius in Holbæk shortly after 2 p.m.
