Copenhagen’s Alchemist has been named the top restaurant in Europe for the fifth consecutive year by Opinionated About Dining (OAD). The announcement comes as part of OAD’s release of its Europe Top Restaurants list for 2025, which features a total of 27 Danish restaurants.

Chef Rasmus Munk, head chef and co-owner, expressed his gratitude for the recognition from OAD’s panel. He highlighted the significance of the award for the entire team.

The OAD rankings are determined by weighting reviewers’ opinions based on their experience and the number of restaurants they have visited. This is the first time in OAD’s history that a restaurant has achieved the top spot five years in a row.

Alchemist’s “Holistic Cuisine” menu consists of approximately 50 “impressions” rather than traditional dishes. The restaurant aims to create a comprehensive experience that incorporates sound, light, and technology alongside taste.

Following Alchemist in the rankings are Frantzén from Sweden in second place and JAN from Germany in third place. Other Danish restaurants making the list include Noma 2.0 (8), Restaurant Jordnær (9), and Kadeau Bornholm (11).
