FC Copenhagen (FCK) coach Jacob Neestrup has addressed the Danish media, particularly critics, after the team’s championship victory. Neestrup emphasized the significant changes made to the team last summer, asserting they were crucial for securing the gold.

The coach highlighted the importance of the squad changes made last summer for achieving the championship. He credited the players’ skill and their commitment to the team over individual egos as key factors in their success.

Neestrup expressed his disappointment with the criticism directed at some of the team’s loaned players, urging recognition for their contributions. He specifically mentioned Diant Ramaj, Pantelis Hatzidiakos, Marcos Lopez, Giorgi Gocholeishvili, and Robert, the latter now a permanent member.

Addressing personal criticism, Neestrup acknowledged it as part of the job. He highlighted the club’s success in reaching the round of 16 in the Conference League despite significant player sales. Neestrup also defended the foreign players who had endured harsh criticism, noting that they grew together as a team despite initial language barriers.

FCK secured the championship with a 3-0 victory against FC Nordsjælland, finishing a point ahead of FC Midtjylland.
