Investigation into the Cause of Skagen Plantation Wildfire Continues

The investigation into the cause of the severe wildfire that erupted in Skagen Klitplantage on Monday remains ongoing, with authorities appealing for public assistance. According to North Jutland Police, no leads have emerged despite efforts to locate witnesses.

The fire, which has been burning since Monday afternoon, has significantly impacted the natural area. Emergency services have made considerable progress in extinguishing the flames, with minimal signs of fire or smoke remaining by Saturday morning.

Incident commander Claus Bisgaard Hermansen from the North Jutland Emergency Services stated that crews would maintain a presence at the site for an extended period due to the persistent risk of flare-ups caused by high temperatures. On Saturday, approximately 35 personnel from the North Jutland Emergency Services and the Danish Emergency Management Agency were on scene.

The wildfire consumed approximately 27 hectares of the plantation located south of Skagen. Authorities initially reported the extent of the damaged area on Monday.

No injuries have been reported as a result of the fire.
