Brøndby has elevated 17-year-old striker Jacob Ambæk and 20-year-old Mathias Jensen to its Superliga squad. The club announced the promotions on its website Friday.

Ambæk, despite being a U17 player, has consistently scored goals in the U19 League. He has already made his Superliga debut, appearing in matches against Randers FC in March and FC Copenhagen in May.

Jensen has yet to debut for Brøndby’s first team.

Sporting director Benjamin Schmedes stated, “Both Mathias and Jacob have been with the Superliga squad on the training ground and in matches during the past season, and they are talents that we really believe can develop further and add to their game.” He added that moving them permanently to the Superliga squad “makes good sense.”

Brøndby begins its new season on Sunday against Silkeborg IF.
