An 18-year-old man is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Friday after being charged with multiple offenses, including gaining unauthorized access to women’s bedrooms. The charges stem from two separate incidents, one of which involved an alleged assault.
The East Jutland Police confirmed the upcoming hearing.
In one incident on March 29th, the man allegedly attacked a 19-year-old woman with a hardball pistol. While the woman was able to deflect most of the blows, sustaining no serious injuries, the man subsequently fled the scene.
Approximately three months later, on June 29th, two women, ages 19 and 20, were awakened by a masked man in their room. The man fled when discovered. However, the 19-year-old woman discovered she was bleeding from her hand. The 18-year-old was arrested later the same day but was released pending further investigation.
He was re-arrested Thursday, and the decision was made to bring him before a judge for a detention hearing. A search of his residence following the June arrest yielded several pieces of evidence. DNA evidence led to the re-arrest and the pre-trial detention hearing.
In addition to the home intrusion and assault charges, the man is also accused of threatening the life of a headmaster from a school in Southeast Jutland he formerly attended. On December 20th, he allegedly threw a stone through the headmaster’s car window and left a note with a threatening message inside.
Police Inspector Brian Voss Olsen stated the case is being taken seriously due to its severity and the insecurity it has caused. He acknowledged the violent and unpleasant nature of the incidents for the victims.
The police investigation is ongoing, including further interrogations and mapping the 18-year-old’s movements.
