18-Year-Old Man to Appear in Preliminary Hearing for Break-ins and Assault

An 18-year-old man will appear in court Friday for a preliminary hearing after being charged with breaking into women’s bedrooms and other offenses. East Jutland Police reported the arrest and upcoming hearing.

The charges stem from two separate incidents. In one case, the man allegedly attacked a 19-year-old woman with a hardball gun, while in another, he is accused of breaking into a room where two women were sleeping.

According to the indictment, the hardball gun assault occurred on March 29th. The woman was able to deflect most of the blows and sustained only minor injuries before the man fled.

Three months later, on June 29th, two women, aged 19 and 20, awoke to find a masked man in their room. The intruder fled when the women saw him, but the 19-year-old later discovered she was bleeding from her hand.

The 18-year-old was initially arrested the same day as the second incident. However, authorities determined there was insufficient cause to hold him at that time.

He was rearrested on Thursday, based on DNA evidence collected during a search of his home following the June arrest. The suspect will face a judge Friday at 11:00 AM in Aarhus, where authorities will seek his pre-trial detention.

In addition to the break-in and assault charges, the man is also accused of making death threats against the headmaster of his former school in Southeast Jutland. Police allege that on December 20th of last year, he threw a stone through the headmaster’s car window and left a note containing a threatening message.

Police Inspector Brian Voss Olsen stated the case is being taken “very seriously” due to its violent nature and the insecurity it has caused in the local community. He added that the police are pleased to have arrested the suspected perpetrator and acknowledged the “very violent and unpleasant experience” for the victims. The investigation remains ongoing.
