OB has secured Theo Sander on loan from FC Copenhagen for the season to bolster their goalkeeping options ahead of their Superliga return. The move addresses the absence of first-choice goalkeeper Viljar Myhra, who is sidelined due to heart problems.
Sander, a 20-year-old with Superliga experience, will compete with Martin Hansen for playing time. He brings experience from 18 Superliga matches, including 14 appearances for AaB and four for FC Copenhagen.
Troels Bech, OB’s sporting director, emphasized the need for an additional top goalkeeper to maintain competition within the squad, considering Myhra’s situation. He expressed his satisfaction in signing Sander, describing him as one of Denmark’s most promising goalkeeping talents.
Myhra’s indefinite absence was announced in June. He continues to be affected by a stress-like condition following a heart arrhythmia. The club is prioritizing his well-being, and he is training to the extent he is able, but remains excluded from the match squad for the foreseeable future.
