A 24-year-old man from Funen, Denmark, has been arrested and remanded in custody for possessing and transferring a hand grenade. The Odense court ordered his detention for four weeks following a hearing on Thursday, according to a prosecutor from the National Unit for Special Crime.

The indictment alleges that the man used the Signal communication service in May to discuss at least one hand grenade, referring to it as an “apple.” He also purportedly offered to commit a criminal act, suggesting that placing an “apple” in a shop or home could be arranged for 100,000 kroner.

While the man has not been charged with carrying out an attack, the charges against him involve the possession and transfer of at least one hand grenade, which he denies. Prosecutor Cecilie Quist confirmed the four-week detention order resulting from the court hearing.
