A 37-year-old man wearing a Coop t-shirt has been remanded in custody until August 12th in Holbæk, suspected of possessing over one kilogram of cocaine. The arrest occurred on Tuesday morning after police discovered the drugs during a search of his car.
While the man admits to possessing the substance, he claims he believed it was hashish. The prosecution, from Midt- and Vestsjællands Politi, shared this information on X. However, his defense attorney stated in court that the accused pleads not guilty.
The case coincides with a separate announcement from the National Unit for Special Crime (NSK) regarding an investigation into cocaine smuggling within bananas found at Coop. Authorities are currently investigating a possible connection.
The preliminary hearing was held behind closed doors, preventing public access to the accused’s statements. Further details are limited at this time due to the ongoing investigation.
