Skagen Klitplantage Wildfire Remains Under Control, Monitoring Continues

Firefighters continue to monitor the Skagen Klitplantage wildfire, which broke out on Monday afternoon, despite having brought it under control.

While the blaze is contained, North Jutland Fire and Rescue Service is addressing several areas with remaining smoke development. Approximately 50 to 60 firefighters are on site Wednesday morning, a reduction from the previous days’ numbers.

The firefighting efforts involved a significant multi-agency response. Over 100 personnel, including permanent employees, volunteers, and conscripts from the Emergency Management Agency, assisted in combating the wildfire. Teams came from North Jutland, Central Jutland, South Jutland, Zealand, and Bornholm.

The exact cause of the fire is still undetermined. The incident commander has not yet given a timeline for when the extinguishing work will be completed. Civilians were asked to stay away from the area when the fire originally broke out.
