Police Find Suspected Getaway Car in Aarhus Watch Robbery

A white Renault Clio, believed to be the getaway car used in the violent robbery of Kejser Aarhus watchmakers, has been located in a parking lot in northern Aarhus. East Jutland Police announced the discovery on social media platform X on Sunday, thanking the public for their assistance.

The car, equipped with Swiss number plates, was found in the parking lot at Lidl on Skejbyvej after citizens reported it to the police on Saturday, following a public appeal. Police are asking anyone who may have seen “anything suspicious” in the area to come forward.

The robbery, which occurred on Friday morning at the watchmaker in Rosensgade, involved the theft of watches worth several million kroner. During the incident, the shop owner, Magnus Kejser, and an employee were threatened with a pistol and restrained in a back room.

Kejser recounted the harrowing experience to TV 2 Østjylland, stating he felt the cold metal of the pistol against his neck. He and the employee freed themselves after the robbers left by breaking a window in the back door.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are yet to determine whether the firearm used was real or a replica. The case may have international links, given the Swiss number plates on the getaway car.
