Four men have been charged in connection with the daylight robbery of a 1200-gram gold bar, valued at 600,000 kroner, which occurred in June at an intersection on Amager. The charges were presented in Copenhagen City Court on Wednesday during a preliminary hearing.
The four arrested men, aged 23, 27, 32, and 41, are accused of conspiring with a fifth, still unidentified, individual to plan and execute the heist.
The robbery allegedly transpired when the youngest of the accused was with the victim in a car. He then informed the other perpetrators of their location.
According to the charges, the victim and the youngest suspect were in a Mercedes S 63 at the intersection of Oliefabrikvej and Løjtegårdsvej in Kastrup when another car collided with them, forcing them to stop. Two perpetrators then exited their vehicle, forcibly removed the victim from the Mercedes, and assaulted him with punches and kicks. The youngest suspect allegedly feigned being a victim as well.
The two assailants then fled with the Mercedes, which contained the gold bar.
The incident occurred around 1 p.m. on June 14th.
The details of the case are currently confidential as the preliminary hearing is being held behind closed doors to protect the ongoing police investigation. Only the information from the charges has been released. All four men are protected by a name ban, and their pleas have not been disclosed. A decision regarding their detention will be made later on Wednesday.
